First off, I just want to thank and for suggesting and featuring my work "The Firing Line" as a Daily Deviation. This is my second DD, and I'm hugely honored to have had not just one, but two pieces showcased. And I also want to thank each and every one of you that commented, +fav'd and watched me. I didn't get a chance to respond to each of you individually, but please know that I appreciate each reaction to the piece deeply. It makes me feel good to know that folks see my art, even better to know that y'all like it. :>

I had my first intro flight with one of three schools I'm looking into, and I'm more gung-ho than ever about doing this. I've made my decision, I am going to fly. I just need to gear up for the intense training ahead of me.

Greetings dA Denizens!

Just got done reorganizing my gallery! Call me slow, but I just noticed the 'Edit' feature and all the cool stuff that it allows you to do. So finally, as I had always wanted to do, I now have my work broken up into folders. So those who just want to see my photography, can jump to that folder. Those who only want to see art, y'all can see only art! Feels nice to have things arranged a little better, now. :>

I'm a little frustrated at dA's categories at the moment, however. They seem (to me) completely illogical, and I wasn't allowed to upload a GIF image to the 'Animals' category under digital art. So I re-uploaded a PNG, but the resizing program dA ran butchered it and it won't allow me to upload a preview for anything but a GIF. I may have to pull the file down and change it again, just to get something that's halfway decent.

Anyone have any tips on getting a preview to work, I'm all ears! Also, any feedback y'all want to give on the gallery is perfectly welcome. :>

Greetings DA!

Now that my schedule is a lot less hectic, and the home improvement projects are actually going somewhat smoothly, I can finally get down to some art! I have a lot of commissions and contest prizes to do, as well as a lot of ideas. So here's hoping that I'll actually get some of them done here soon!

Hey out there on dA!

I logged in a week ago, not having visited the site in several weeks thanks to work, and was greeted by a wonderful surprise. My piece Aidan the Woodsman [link] was awarded a Daily Deviation! I had never expected any of my work to be showcased like that, and I really do appreciate it. I want to thank everyone out there who commented on or favorited my work, and who gave me critique to improve or encouragement to continue. I owe you all. I wish I had the time to individually respond to everyone, but my work schedule has limited that.

Again, thanks folks! It means a lot to me. :>

In other news, StarFest was a bomb. The art show was sold out by the time I was able to get down there, so none of my work was showed. Perhaps Opus Fest, or next year. For my anniversary present my awesome husband got me a new camera, a Canon EOS-30D! I've taken a lot of shots with it, and I'm lovin' it. I've uploaded a few shots I've taken here recently from both my back yard, and from a trip to the mountains we took.

Hopefully more art is on the way. Those of you with gift art or trades I owe, no fear! I haven't forgotten you, it's just been insanely difficult to get anything done with the way work has been treating me. Things are settling down again, so hopefully I can get back to art here real soon. I am also going to rework and repost the wallpapers I have up, and add some more. I think some of my recent macro work might work well as wallpaper, because of the large amounts of unfocused space. Looking forward to feedback on it from y'all!
