So here is Kaze the grey fox, in her anthro form, lounging in a tree. Unlike her canine cousins, she's blessed with the ability to clamber up trees with her sharp, semi-retractable claws. Here, in this old and majestic oak, she can find some peace and quiet where she can work on her current projects uninterrupted. The only worry she has is pesky corvids. ;>
Inked with Micron pens, color in Prismacolor pencils and Prismacolor markers on 9x12 bristol. Anyone out there who has marker and colored pencil tips, I'm all ears! Still having trouble getting smooth fields of solid color. Part of it is the scanner, this looks smoother RL, but still not what I'd like. x.x
The art is (c) me, but the character is (c) . Because my sibling loves me, I'm allowed to offer prints of this piece! 8x10" prints are $10 plus shipping! Contact me for more details!
This is really good! Your technique with the colored pencils is well done. I've had the same problems getting solid colors smooth and the only advice I can give is to just keep practicing. I've blended at least 3 colors (usually the base color then one lighter/one darker) in some of my art to have that solid look, and still it comes out sketchy, but sometimes it works, like here. I like the way this one looks, it gives it texture; and it catches your eye. Very well done!

Somewhere, someone is doing a doctoral thesis on why people go crazy at the sight of a string of beads.
I experimented with this one quite a bit. The base color of the tree, the leaves and the sky is all marker. Over the marker is colored pencil that's then smoothed out with either a blender or white (in the case of the sky). It's far better than other attempts, but still not where I want it. Doesn't help I had two markers dying on me. ;>
