Artist's Comments

The first of three Sumatran Tiger photographs I took while at Colorado's Ocean Journey this week. I wanted to focus on trying to get some good shots of Bali and Java, our two male Sumatran Tigers. I shot about 20 pics, these were by far the best and looked the most natural. A few others I took look good, but you can tell they're in an enclosure.

This is proably my favorite, save for the glaring over-exposure on the rock to his left. If I find a way to tame it down, I'll re-upload.

This is Bali a 6 and a half year old male. He's lived at COJ since he was about 8 months old.

Taken with my EOS-300D Digital Rebel.

this is simply amazing. you captured nothing but a pure tiger attitude here, the expression is just so solemn and majestic. Who cares about the rock glare, i can easily see this getting a daily top-favorite :D

...when you have such a perfect model, it is hard not to have an absolutely wonderful picture. The Tiger rests there, resplendid with pride and peace. Never should he have to know the horrors of the hunt. My other half just loves this pic too. She wants to know if there will be the possibility of prints? A very well taken photo, of a simply beautiful creature. Now if only COJ does not mess with things too much, there might be the chance, that others can view this Tiger in person. (E)

You can tell the Better Half(tm) that I'd me more than happy to get her prints of this pic, if she'd like them. I'm honored that you left such kind comments! :>

There's really very little I can add that hasn't already been said, but I just had to add my voice to the others in saying how wonderful this photo looks. I love it!
