My entry that I'm scraping in on the deadline for 's contest. It's her very cool lookin' beasie Devour fighting Rick Schriever, my main bad guy and ex-NSA agent. Rick has a ton of tech-toys and weapons, but when you're fighting something the size of a semi-truck, even the 12-gauge M1014 combat shotgun doesn't offer much comfort.

I went for more of the start of the conflict, because I wanted to leave the outcome very open-ended. Looking back on it I could have done a lot better, and I'm really not happy with how Rick came out, but I think Devour looks alright. I also don't think Devour is quite as big as she should be, but if I had changed the scale much more there would have been no chance for detail in Rick at all. I had also wanted to color it, but alas, yard work happened and I barely made deadline with the lineart. ;>

I hope I didn't butcher her design too badly, ~INSTINCT-IVE!

Devour is (c) , Rick Schriever (c) myself. Micron pens on hot-press stetch paper, 8.5x11. No idea how long it took. Heh.

A dragonsharkie, never thought i would see a pic of that kind, i may be one, but theres quiet some differences between me and that guy growling and that animal. O.=.o with the pointy stick.
Man, the shapes are great, but, i must say, the human look a bit like a doll, and the tailfin are quiet small compared to the body.
But its still nice to watch, i like.

Devour's caudal fin is fairly small compared to her body size, according to the refs, so I kept it in proportion according to the images done by her creator. As for Rick, yeah, he doesn't look all that good. The first sketch I did of him was a lot better, but I had to shrink it way down to bring it into proportion. Now that I look back on it, I could have done a /lot/ better.
