Artist's Comments

My half of my art trade with . Yes, I finally got it done! I'm really, really sorry it took so long. Gawd, I'm the biggest art-slacker. Hope it's worth the wait....

Frost, the half polar bear, half orca who's all ass-kicker. I know I completely slacked on the background, but I really didn't want to distract from the main subject. The sword's also off- I can't draw weaponry to save myself.

Done with Microns, marker and colored pencil on Bristol. Frost, I have the original for ya here at the house. Oh, and your laptop's fixed too. Thought I'd throw that in as well. ;>

Frost is (c) to , artwork (c) myself.

I really like how you managed to merge these two animals, great job

That changed since last I saw it...about a year ago:P! lol! Definately an awesome job!

o_O Half polarbear, half orca... Now that's a combination I haven't seen before! it looks very intersting though. I'd like to see that big guy chase after seals and fish under the water... mwahhaha. A scary sight indeed. I like how the background is done all in purple but detail is kept nice and clean.

Wiiiiillld... That's a difficult combination of creatures - you pulled it off quite nicely. From the thumbnail in your journal, I thought that this guy would have fairy wings or something, and then I thought that'd be rather out of character. Lo and behold, it's an orca dorsal fin! So I guess that's almost as unusual.

What I find particularly striking is the face - I like the fact that you made even the face reflect the two separate species. It looks odd, but it's definitely a neat effect. The simplified background works in your favor, too; that was a great call. Bravo! Hooray for art trades, even IF they take a year to complete (*guilty blush* - I do the same danged thing and also have been just catching up... :-) )

A truly unique idea. One that I believe has not been attempted by mere mortals before. There is a geno-game for the pc that uses DNA from various creatures to form new and varied creatures. But even in that game, I don't believe these two species have met. Well done *J*.
